I received an older high-end hi-fi system as a gift and was looking for a suitable solution for DAB reception and music streaming.
I wanted a compact solution with a display and remote control, and I didn't want to spend too much money.
I didn't really expect much, but was all the more surprised. The Noxxon reacts quickly, has very good DAB reception even with the supplied throw antenna. The remote control is not of the highest quality, but it reacts well even at a distance and even if you don't aim directly at the device. In addition, the device can be conveniently controlled via an app that offers advanced settings such as switching to high streaming quality. The bit rate is also shown in the display, e.g. Spotify is streamed with up to 320 KBit.
I have paired the Noxxon with a separate D/A converter, also bought here at Digitec, the FiiO Taishan D03K. The Noxxon already sounded good before, but together with this DAC, the differences in sound between a very good CD recording and the same album streamed via Spotify are more noticeable than actually audible.
