Microsoft Wedge Mobile Keyboard

Super small keyboard. The keys are comfortable and not too close together. I use it as a second keyboard for the Surface Pro 3.
Attention the keyboard is not flat. You can't see it in the pictures, the battery compartment serves as a stand for the keyboard.
If you work a lot with Alt+F1...F12 or CTRL+F1....F12 (e.g. F2 in Excel!), you will find it awkward because the function keys can only be accessed with the key combination Fn+F1...F12.

No additional app is needed for German umlauts on Android: >Settings >System >Language and input >Micoroft Wedge Mobile Keyboard (if connected via Bluetooth) >Select keyboard type >Swiss German (or whatever)

In short: Great keyboard, backlit, perfect workmanship and, at Fr. 59, very good value for money. Can also be used very well with Android, for example; pairing works perfectly. Incidentally, the keyboard is very compact, but offers (almost) the same typing feel as a very good PC keyboard. I'm not a 'fanboy', by the way, but Microsoft (also) offers 'a lot of quality for the money' with this keyboard.

Pros:
Thanks to the cover that can be used as a tablet holder, this keyboard is excellently suited for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. The workmanship is first class. The delays when switching on or waking up from standby mode (connection recovery) are hardly noticeable.
Con's:
- The app "External Keyboard Helper Pro" is required for the German umlauts and other keys to function properly under Android.
- The keyboard saves "only" 1 pairing at a time. If the keyboard is used alternately with different devices (mobile phone, tablet, laptop, etc.), it must be paired again each time the device is changed.
Conclusion: apart from the weaknesses listed, a highly recommendable product!

Use the keyboard on my Samsung Galaxy 7.7 Tab (P6800).
Works perfectly with the External Keyboard Helper app, including umlauts and special characters.
After a period of getting used to it, the 10-finger system works without any problems.
The cover also serves as a tablet stand, which is very useful. I would buy again.
I was going to give it 4 stars, because it's true that the keys are very close together, with no space between them to prevent bad keystrokes.
However, I only picked it up for one reason: it's small. So that's the price of having such a practical keyboard with you!
I reserve the right to come back and lower its price if I see that it drains the batteries too quickly (for the moment it seems to be fine).
Works on my Windows 11 and Android

In itself a good and compact keyboard. I use it together with my tablet, which as a combination is almost a full replacement for a laptop. The keyboard is relatively heavy, which can be a disadvantage when transporting it, but an advantage when using it on a table.
Criticisms are: the protruding battery compartment on the back can be a nuisance in a bag, the keyboard cover is fiddly to take off and put on and has a rubbery surface that just attracts dust and then looks grubby.

Use: Writing with smartphone or tablet (complete laptop replacement in mobile office and writing) in library, café, train, hotel, outdoor in summer. Closer choices were Logitech K380, K480 and the Microsoft Wedge mobile. The two Logitech devices switch back and forth between three devices at the touch of a button (practical when writing with a tablet and smartphone at the same time), but at around 28 and 30 cm respectively, they are wider than the Wedge keyboard at around 25 cm. In addition, it is protected by a solid lid that can be used as a tablet stand. It is relatively heavy, but this makes it robust and usable as a stand. The solid workmanship is generally convincing.
Android: BT pairing works right away, and the keyboard connects automatically after switching on. The soft keyboard app SwiftKey recognises the external keyboard immediately and automatically switches to it and back again after switching off; in the system settings (language and input), the appropriate layout (for example, "Swiss German") may first have to be selected for the physical keyboard. The soft keyboard apps from Google and Samsung (Galaxy S5), however, do not recognise external keyboards (manual switching in the system settings is required). The app "External Keyboard Helper Pro" (EKHP) recognises switching the wedge keyboard on/off and automatically opens the system menu for selecting the keyboard: the wedge keyboard must be selected from this menu after switching on, the personal soft keyboard again after switching off. However, the fact that Microsoft does not currently include such an app for Android would justify at most a half-point deduction (only if there were no apps like SwiftKey or EKHP in the Google Play Store would it look worse), so it remains at five stars. I haven't tried it on Windows, but it's great on the go with my Android devices.

great & smalll keyboard; works on every Laptop/Tablet I use
Great. The keyboard cover that turns into a stand is nice. Used on a Lumia 950 in continuum mode.

Good keyboard for a good price.
Cable loss ...
Bit problematic with Windows 8.1 under W10 works OK.

Nice design, good buttons, compact size but not too tight. Lid unnecessarily heavy, but functional as a stand.
The keys and the pressure point are quite good.
The missing insert key can be tolerated, the fact that the caps lock every now and then is still okay - also that the keyboard has to be switched off every two days because it suddenly multiplies every keystroke ten to twenty times - but the function keys are totally annoying.
I use the keyboard on my laptop and you need function keys more often than you think - even combinations like Alt-F4, Ctrl-F4 and so on.
Since Microsoft apparently considers the play, volume, zoom, system control and other functions more important than the function keys, the latter have to be operated via an additional toggle key, and they are also tiny and written in grey. Even after half a year of use, I still mistype all the time and therefore switch to the laptop keyboard just for these keys. Anyone who does a Ctrl-F4 test will know what I mean.
Unfortunately there is no programme to change this, an old programme from M$ to change the keyboard layout of keyboards does not run under Win7.
Anyone who develops software, for example, will only be annoyed by this keyboard, see:

Unfortunately, the solution to the problem of the function keys with the AutoHotkey programme does not work with the Swiss keyboard layout.
Materials and workmanship are very good. The keyboard cover, which can also be used as a tablet stand, is a great idea.
The ideal addition to a tablet if you want to write longer texts from time to time.
Keyboard very well made, after getting used to it write better than with some other keyboards (but I also have small hands) BUT - old gr key combos do not work (e.g. @) - how do I switch this?
Simply an ingenious keyboard. Small, but I still have no problems writing normally and quickly with it (10 fingers).
