I switched from the Huawei Mate 10 Pro to the P30 Pro. I didn't expect anything new in terms of operation, but I don't find fault with that. I'm very comfortable with EMUI and have grown to love it.
I switched to the P30 Pro because of the camera. I thought the photos from the old Huawei Mate 10 Pro were already stunning, but the P30 Pro puts a cherry on top. The P30 Pro camera doesn't quite come close to an SLR camera, but it's suspiciously close. Photos with the "normal" mode and Master AI are good to very good, but with an SLR you also adjust the settings yourself, so you should probably shoot with the Pro mode to tickle out the real potential of the camera. All in all, it's an up-to-the-minute smartphone that is quite convincing. P.S.: Whether it's a notch or angled side edges is a matter of taste, but I think the edges make the smartphone look better.

After the fuss with the Mate 20 Pro, Huawei finally got it right!
The fingerprint scanner also works a lot better on the P30 Pro.
Furthermore, you can shoot 4K without the jelly effect that the Mate 20 Pro suffered from.
Edit: My P30 Pro and some others have a blue tint on the right side of the display!
PS. Although digitec says it comes with a protective case, I didn't get one in the box.

Weighed up for a long time whether to make the switch from the Mate 20 Pro. Didn't regret it. The following review is primarily a comparison to the Mate 20 Pro.
The camera is an absolute blast. Fantastic
Zoom, great light intensity for night shots, natural colours and most importantly, very little distortion at wide angle!
Facescan (without the depth sensor of the Mate) and fingerprint reader react much faster and more reliably!
I'm happy to do without the depth sensor, as it only disturbs a small camera anotch in the display!
The battery consumption seems to have been optimised again with EMUI 9.1. Despite the same size battery and processor, noticeably longer runtime possible. It now lasts me a full 2 days with intensive use (before it was sometimes tight).
The device is a feast for the eyes in the Aurora Blue version with a transparent silicone cover (a must)!
Without a protective cover, it's a big risk! (Unfortunately not included in the accessories)
Unfortunately, only mono speakers, which means that the sound does not come close to the Mate 20 Pro. But since I listen to music with my Bluetooth headphones anyway, it's not really a problem.
Facescan with depth scan and stereo speakers will probably be reserved for the expected Mate 30 Pro.
I don't understand why EMUI is always being ballyhooed in forums and reviews. I have tested various other user interfaces, but have always come back to EMUI. Maybe it's because I still had Apple products (Macbook Pro, iPad etc...) until a year ago. (I've been with the iPhone since its birth and have had pretty much all iPhones, since I changed every year) EMUI is very close in its operation.
Switching from the Apple world to the Android / Windows world was not easy for me, but can't advise anyone to use an Android device with Apple computers. It simply doesn't fit.
I dare say that Apple's innovation leadership in mobile phones is definitely over. The hardware deficit between the current iPhones and Huawei is now enormous!
My conclusion: Currently by far the best mobile phone on the market. Absolute recommendation.

I replaced my 2.5-year-old Samsung Galaxy S7 with a Huawei P30 Pro at the beginning of April and what can I say, I am absolutely satisfied.
The battery is very durable and can last up to 3 or even 4 days (depending on use). It runs smoothly and quickly. I really like the large screen! Switching to a smaller phone is no longer an option for me. I also like the slightly higher weight of the smartphone, it feels like "something". The light plastic things from other manufacturers always bother me.
The power adapter is quite big, but it also charges incredibly fast, so you can definitely forgive the size. It takes about 50-60 minutes and the phone is back to the living :D
The camera takes beautiful photos with natural colours. The different photo modes invite you to experiment. I recently discovered the macro mode, which is even more fun.
In my opinion, the photos are better than on the Samsung devices. Samsung somehow always pushes its own pictures up, in the spirit of Disneyland and Dreamland, it seems artificial (also seen with the Samsung TVs).
The switch was definitely worth it and even after 3 weeks of use, I still enjoy the P30 Pro very much.
One negative thing that could be mentioned is that neither a cover nor a protective film is included. In addition, there is no longer a jack. However, this is rather nagging at a high level.
