After three years, my loudspeaker has now completely given up the ghost.
The speaker can no longer be switched on and gets so hot when charging that it can still be used as a hob.

The speaker fulfils everything you would expect from HK.
Great sound, loud and powerful.
The charging system is very innovative for the Bluetooth speaker sector and the workmanship is, from what I can tell so far, very high quality and clean.
Unfortunately, Google Home is required to set up and activate the speaker.
However, it is possible to stream music via Wi-Fi (which is probably not the primary reason for buying the box, but as I found out after some research, there doesn't seem to be an alternative).
Once set up, however, the speaker can be operated as normal via Bluetooth, even without an internet connection.

This is a great smart speaker. We have it in a rather big room and it can deal with it. I use its portability to take it out into the garden which works well as well. It does not loose its connection and can be used for either nice background listening but also has enough umph to get the party started.
Unfortunately, the start-up time is really slow so you are inclined to keep it running all the time which is not really what I want for a device that I only use occasionally. Also, it is annoying that google assistant still only has very few music suppliers that can be used through the voice commands. But that is hardly Harman's fault.
