    what a board!?

with this board and nvme drive my PC boots in 14s
it has so many features and cables and connectors even I struggled to use them all
it may look like it is expensive but you get more features you can use for the buck.

    Pro

    • great management
    • great packaging
    • nice subtle ligthning
    • post codes
    • all lights can be turned off

    Suitable for gaming

    G. Skill Trident is recommended for RAM
However, these must be switched down manually in the Bios if 6400Mhz to 600Mhz for AMD processors.
They do not run properly at 6400Mhz.

    Good equipment. Clear UEFI

Unfortunately, I had problems with the Kingston Fury Beast Ram that I could not operate them at the specified clock speed (despite the compatibility list). Instead of 5600, they only ran stable at 5200 Mhz.

    Now I have changed
to the G.Sklill Trident Z5 6000Mhz Ramkit. These run perfectly.

Otherwise, the mainboard offers many connections, especially the internal USB. A massive back plate protects the board and also cools the components.

    No Q-Flash Plus

Didn't work with my 9xxx CPU out of the box and I couldn't make the Q-Flash Plus feature work to update the BIOS without a compatible CPU and RAM, so the whole board was unusable in my case. I read that many people had issues with the Q-Flash, it's very picky about the USB drives it works with. Don't buy Gigabyte products.

Performance is good, but it's a ticking time bomb

This board was my "launch board" which I bought right after the release of the X670E platform. Initially, everything ran perfectly and I was able to run EXPO on 6000/CL 30 for over half a year without any problems. However, it had high "RAM training times" which are normal on X670E, as it is not fully developed. At some point there were suddenly critical stability problems that I couldn't explain. I had tried to update the BIOS and it had failed. After that, the board was finally over... and it could only sporadically boot into Windows after many false starts. BIOS was barely accessible including freezes. I then submitted it to the warranty
(at Steg Computer, they are now bankrupt, probably has its reasons) and they said it would take 2 months, in the end I got it back after 6 weeks... supposedly "repaired".

They also said "EXPO" cannot be guaranteed. I have to say that ALL reviews use EXPO exclusively and it's standard since it's SO REFERENCED in the media, so it's clearly legitimate. In the USA, AMD had officially stated that there is also a CPU guarantee WITH EXPO. Without my knowledge, the board had raised the SOC volts of the CPU to 1.41 V with a 1.35 V RAM kit (this is NOT specified in the EXPO, this is done by the board manufacturer) and this had damaged my SOC of the CPU in the long term because I can no longer use EXPO.

EXPO according to QVL (on the website) and BIOS update are an advertised feature and do not lead to loss of warranty even if that is what they like to say.

However, I generally do not recommend RAM above 1.25 V as the SOC is very sensitive due to the architecture. You MUST set the volts manually on the CPU, otherwise it can destroy the CPU and also the board.

    Pro

    • When it's running it's fast, one of the best performing X670Es
    • One of the cheapest EATX X670E boards, whereby cheap is relative because the equipment is moderate.
    • 2x M2 SSD PCIE 5.0 slots, if you need them. Whereby the lower PCIE 5.0 can hardly be cooled.
    • Good VRM cooling, nothing burns there (SOC and chips sometimes do).
    • Backplate, protects the board and improves cooling

    Contra

    • Due to unnecessary (manufacturer wants to push reviews) EXPO overvolt, it can smoke off at some point
    • No 10 Gbit LAN, clearly weak for a board in this price range
    • PCIE 4.0 M2 SSDs unfavourably positioned, as everything is directly under the GPU, can get hot.
    • Needs BIOS update, otherwise I would forget EXPO and new 3D CPUs too
    • Weak audio range, clearly weak in this price range.
    • BIOS update failed
    • Only ONE fully usable PCIE x16 slot, everything else is x8
    • CMOS battery very unfavourably positioned, can suffer heat death in the long term (with all the consequences)
