Is for the simple expansion of the SATA ports no better expansion card and I've been looking for a long time!

Works as it should. Speed is also correct. Have 3 plates and a DVD drive on it. The drive is recognized, on the plates I can write and read simultaneously without problems without limitation.

    Price / performance just top!

    Who
simply wants to install more plates, but has no more SATA ports, has found here exactly the right thing.
A cheap expansion card without schnick schnack and without limitation. The chip / controller is very good, even according to tests.

Drivers are not required, I think. But I installed them anyway. The drive attached to the controller was recognized and I could install the drivers from it. So I guess that the drivers are not mandatory. To be on the safe side I installed it.

    Pro

    • Easy installation
    • Top speed, no compromises when using all 4 internal ports
    • Price/Performance
    • Very small

a very good card that would have deserved a better driver support.

Plug in, install the driver and go. Unfortunately, no current software for hard drives over 4TB, which in this day and age of 10TB hard drives is an absolute killer criterion. Therefore only two stars. Oh yes what is still to be noted, if you want to use the two external ports, you can only use 2 internal. So there are always a total of only 4 ports usable.

    Unsuitable for Linux

    - Does not work on manjaro-linux (kernel 5.5.13-1-MANJARO).
    - A bit expensive for a >10 years old chip
