Dell S3422DWG
3440 x 1440 pixels, 34"
In the field of 34' ultrawide displays with VA slab, this display is an excellent value for money.
It is well made. Let's be clear, it's not premium, it's plastic, but good quality plastic, solid, and it's well finished. A tiny bit of play on the plastic strip at the bottom of the frame, but that's likely to be the case on all curved screens, and it's not annoying.
You can adjust the image and get great color and contrast. The screen is more than bright enough for my use
It's a VA panel, so the contrast is better than on an IPS panel, and it's immediately noticeable.
The disadvantage of VA panels is the "black smearing" phenomenon, and like all VA monitors, this one is no exception. This effect is noticeable in certain situations, although VA panels have improved considerably. But if you choose a monitor with a VA panel, you will not escape this inconvenience. However, this remains very specific to particular situations. In normal use, it is not noticeable.
There is a USB hub with four downstream USB sockets, of which two USB sockets as well as a jack socket for headphones are very accessible on the front just under the screen. I find this very appreciable.
The stand has a limited footprint compared to most 34' ultrawide screens. The screen occupies about 22 cm in depth. So you need a desk with enough depth, especially if it's against a wall. Mine is only 59 cm, and that's really a bit tight. Otherwise the stand is stable and the monitor is very easy to adjust.
The HDR function works with HDR specific videos and by activating the HDR mode on the monitor AND in the OS. It's brighter indeed but well, I'm not convinced. The hue changes a bit towards yellow and depending on the video, the colors are exaggerated. Maybe in other contexts it's worth it, to be seen...

On paper, it's a great screen but to my disappointment, the quality has so far not been there. The first screen I ordered had a fault with the menu controls, which resulted in the menu being displayed randomly without even touching the controls. After contacting the Digitec Helpcenter, I received a second screen. This one had some approximations in the assembly. The frame of the screen was not properly clipped on and therefore did not follow the curvature of the screen at the bottom left and right (see pictures). Furthermore, I noticed an area with dead pixels. I really hope to have better luck with the 3rd screen that will be delivered today.
Luckily Digitec is very responsive. Thanks again.

Just take a look at Rtings and you'll see that you really get what you pay for with this screen. Unbeatable in this price category for 21:9.

Good screen in itself, but with strange "tics". As noted by others, laptops connected with HDMI are not displayed properly (only 1080p). If you then switch off HDR, 1440p can be displayed, but not 21:9. On any other 21:9 screen, it works fine with the same laptop and cable. If you switch to USB-C with HDMI, everything works perfectly.
It gets even more confused in a setup where a PC is connected to the screen and also to a real HDR-capable TV. Sometimes HDR works on the TV, sometimes not. Everything tends to work better when HDR is switched off on the screen. Again, tests show that the strange behaviour does not occur with other screens, same PC, same TV. There is something very strange about how this screen interacts with Windows 11, especially with HDR.
If you have a simple setup, with just a deskotp PC, connected via display port and this screen, then everything runs perfectly. But I wouldn't recommend the Dell S3422DWG to anyone with a more complex setup.
Great unit, VESA mount is decently recessed. So with my Ergotron LX stand I can push it almost to the wall. No fan and very good for working and playing on the same device. No pixel errors and workmanship is solid
Unfortunately, it lacks USB-C. But can reach the 144hz via a DisplayPort 1.4 to USB-C cable - so it doesn't matter.
Picture in Picture (or is it side by side?) mode is a bit useless, as the resolution is reduced in each case and my Mac as well as my Windows PC do not recognise the resolution correctly at the same time (manual fiddling necessary).

I ordered the screen in the afternoon, no 24h later it was in use.
I use the screen for the home office and it replaces 2x 27 inch screens. In the evening it is used by my son for gaming.
Both in the home office with multitasking and for gaming excellent. I have privately a Mac and PC and business a Surface Pro 8 connected and do not have to change cables.
I can no longer imagine working without this screen.
Classy design and stable.

I use it for work with complete satisfaction.
You can fit two or three windows on the screen, which saves a lot of space.

Easy to mount, great quality, doesn't look weird from different angles (due to the curved shape) Great for gaming :)

I'm really happy with the monitor. When I unpacked it, I was really positively surprised by the 34 inches. I've only watched a few YouTube videos and played Red Dead Redemption 2 so far. I'm mega excited. With a better graphics card than mine (RTX 3060 12GB VRAM) you can probably get even more out of it. Monitor and GPU are connected with a DP 1.4 cable.
Top PC screen.

Mainly used for office, image and video editing.
The change to a "curved display" takes a little getting used to.
But the change was definitely worth it.
I am very satisfied with the monitor despite the negative points.

It provides a great screen real estate for a split view of two windows, I prefer it over having two smaller ones. The resolution is decent for this purpose and the contrast is more than enough.
None of my docking stations were able to transmit at full (or even any native) resolution, so I had to use a dedicated USB-C to HDMI cable, but other than that, it works perfectly.
buy and enjoy

Use this in the office. Good monitor with many connectivity options.
2 x HDMI, 1 x DP, 4 x USB-A.
Unfortunately, it cannot be connected via USB-C, as well as no USB-C outputs.
