Beyerdynamic MMX 300 2nd Gen.

Well, I admit it, I couldn't wait, I got it a few weeks ago in August directly from Germany, the headset.
At the beginning of the summer, my 5.1 Roccat thing slowly chose the exit - so I left for unknown realms of gamer headsets, I was stuck with Sennheiser for a while. But then a fellow gamer turned me on to beyerdynamic.
There is still the custom game variant, a bit lighter, technical data slightly different - but have decided for MMX, seems to be the killer.
I must also confirm so, it is wicked - compared to my other headset is a huge difference. Why? Can I as a layman not even say exactly, I hear now just in Rainbow Six really everything, from back to front and bottom to top. :o)
Otherwise I do not listen to music on the computer, but since a few days I test it with the MMX, bombastic - with flac you sit right in the concert, only without elbows. =D
There comes the package and I think to myself "did they pack anything at all, was sent me there air". Extremely light, sits great, eternally long fun to wear. The bass may be partially down rules, for listening to music it suits me, but for certain games it hammers me too hard.
Micro, just as nasty - I had to turn down, otherwise you can hear me swearing in the basement when I once again bumped my head on the door frame - the headset is on the 3rd floor ... Crystal clear voice (teammate also has beyerdynamic)
What I have coped, or only imagined is the noise at rest, so actually only my blood flow in the ears ...
I still have the assumption that ear pads are replaceable, temple pads anyway.
If spend a lot of money on gamer accessories, or sound enjoyment on jack, then here!

Very good sound and good workmanship. Very comfortable to wear, even after hours. I waited forever for the delivery, but it was worth the wait! It's certainly one of the most expensive headsets, but also one of the best.

Warning: if your microphone does not work, it is most likely not the microphone itself but the way the cable is attached to the headphones. Plugging it in is enough for sound on the headphones, but for the mic to work the cable has to be pressed extremely firmly (almost forcefully) into the socket on the headphones. Beyerdynamics support is aware of the problem.
My evaluation:
Excellent headset! Great sound, also for listening to music. Extremely detailed localisation when playing games. Even quiet footsteps are not overheard.
The wearing comfort is very high and the workmanship is excellent.

Absolutely great headset, the best I've ever had. (And there were a few)
The sound quality is overraged, even the top models of other gaming headset manufacturers such as Logitech & Co can not keep up.
The microphone also fully meets my expectations.
The headset itself is very comfortable and even with longer wear still pleasant.
The design is simple, but high quality.
(No RGB frippery or so)
The cable may be a bit short for TV gamers on the couch.

Very good headset with great sound and very good workmanship
Addendum to the bass: now after a few hours of running in everything is perfect, that's how it should be. Now it is really rich and voluminous!

Very Nices headset for gaming as well as other things I would recommend.

Very nice and high quality headset.
The ear pads feel very comfortable. You hardly sweat under them even in summer.
The microphone is very clear.
The whole thing is even better in combination with the Sennheiser GSX 1000, with which you can really hear every opponent and where they are coming from!

There is almost nothing to complain about with this very good headset from Beyerdynamic. The sound quality is spot on and unlike some people who have given bad feedback on the spatialization of the sound in game, I personally didn't find it particularly bad.
The headset seems to be quite solid to last and has a pretty good comfort even if the velvet pads and the force that the headset exerts on the head can be a bit annoying (if this is the case, leather pads by Dekoni for example can do the trick even if it adds to the bill)
The microphone is also very good even if it can have a tendency to have a very small background noise which can be corrected without marring the quality of voice by the various software of discussion or RTX Voice etc.. But the rendering is still superior to the majority of gaming headsets available on the market!
All this makes me think that the MMX 300 is an excellent choice and remains reasonably priced for all it offers and for the time it may take you knowing that the parts that are most likely to deteriorate can be changed

With the right soundcard a different league than standard gaming headsets!

The headset is absolutely brilliant.
A few years ago I tried Beyerdynamics in a hi-fi studio and was completely thrilled. At that time, however, there was no headset and I didn't have a field of application for it.
I recently started playing escape from Tarkov and in this strategy shooter it is absolutely essential to hear where the enemy is. I changed the headset because my old Logitech gave up on the microphone. Besides, only noise came out of the ear cups. the opponents were hardly localisable. This headset rocks. When I'm playing with friends and even a single shot is fired in the vicinity, I immediately know exactly where it fell. This has recently become quite exciting in Teamspeak, when the question comes up: The shot was approximately to the right in the foreground and I answer: The shot was right there behind this building. Enormous feat of brilliance by BD.
The music is also a completely new pleasure. Forget the reviews on YouTube "The mids aren't that great" - Hardly any other headset can keep up with these headphones in terms of sound. Not even close. There is something called euqalizer for something like the mids when enjoying music, although I haven't needed it yet.
In the game Tarkov, on the other hand, the bright steps of the players are clearly separated by the good highs. Even when it's raining in the game, I can clearly locate the enemy players.
I am 100% and completely thrilled!

UPDATE:
If I could give 6 stars, I would. What happened:
One of our cats chewed through the cable between the two ear cups. The headset is completely disassembled and serviceable!
I was able to lay a new cable and solder it. FIRST CLASS. When do you find that nowadays? So if it breaks, don't despair, ask someone who can solder if necessary!

Best headset after 20 years of gaming experience.
I'm also rediscovering my entire music collection with it! It's really fun!
Only the price is two ticks too high for the built-in dt770 pro + mic.

I use these headphones together with the sound card 'Creative SoundblasterX G6'. My report is based purely on this combination.
What the sound card gets out of these headphones is incredible. No matter if game, music or movie. The audio experience is simply brilliant.
The microphone is crystal clear and a joy to use.
A definite buy recommendation. But would also recommend a sound card to be able to use the real potential of the headphones.

My first Beyerdynamic headset. I've always had problems finding headsets that fit. This one fits perfectly in terms of size, and it's the most comfortable so far. I find the sound bombastic and the microphone is very good. The scope of delivery is also worth mentioning in contrast to other brands.
The price is high, but when I compare it with other brands of the same price, I find the quality of the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 2.Gen to be much higher and the price is therefore justified.

If you like to have a good sound, you can not get around this headset. No comparison with the other headsets! The sound is awesome. Also the locatability of objects is right on the dot. Anyway - But for gaming almost too bad. My old Sony and my Wireless-Asus don't get a second more use!

I gave the headset to my boyfriend for Christmas. He is mega satisfied and is envied by all gamer colleagues. More I can not say, I would have to ask him.

Unfortunately I got a damaged headset. I had to have it repaired again and again under warranty, but the errors reappeared after a few weeks.
Per se, the headset would be great, but wen it is broken, then it is not usable.

Worlds better than my old Sennheiser and extremely comfortable, but with qualitative deficiencies. Great: With the two different cables I can use the part on my laptop as well as my warhorse. Little thing: I had to first try around until I knew which position of the microphone switch means "on" ;)
UPDATE: After almost 3 months in use, the headset unfortunately shows a few flaws: The microphone no longer works with any of the two cables, music comes with the 4-pin cable funny only when pressing the mute button, microphone arm sometimes folds down by itself and can no longer be reliably positioned. Until further notice 1 star deduction.
UPDATE 2: After 9 months of use, the 4-pin cable has a cable breakage, with daily use in the home office on the desk (for comparison: The cable of my HD25 has lasted many years despite daily carrying around and in the backpack Wurschteln).

since I own the MMX 300, my PSB and AKG headphones are gathering dust in the rack. There is no reason to put on a pure headphones to listen to music, the headset from Beyerdynamic can do just as well (decent DAC provided)!
clear recommendation, if a sound quality is important and the cable does not bother.
The cable has the advantage that the recording via microphone is clearly better than with BLE headsets.

Basically ok.
But it didn't blow me away.

I've had the headset for a good 2 years. The sound quality and wearing comfort is great!
The headset was only on my desk for 2 years (never transported or used outside my office), then the microphone holder broke.
The microphone cannot be replaced (no spare parts available). Repairing the microphone (not covered by warranty) costs MORE than buying a new headset.
So I cannot recommend this product for this price.
So, I bought the headset and it has been in use for about 2-3 months now:
- The sound: is detailed and clear, but does not offer any rich bass (Hyper X cloud was better).
- The design is good, you can't complain.
- The microphone has meanwhile become noisy, unclear and has problems, disappointing for the price.
-The wearing comfort is very good, only sometimes they get a bit warm in them but otherwise great.

At first glance, the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 2nd Gen is expensive, but it is definitely worth it and I don't regret the purchase for a second. No comparison with my old headset from Corsair.

It feels great, the ear pads are comfortable and you can wear it for several hours without any problems. The sound is very good, listening to music is really fun. The only thing I don't like is the controller on the cable. It feels okay but does what it's supposed to do. It's very light and doesn't pull the cable down, doesn't get stuck on my desk and you don't accidentally press the buttons. The volume wheel doesn't feel as high-quality as the rest, but it doesn't cause any problems.
There are 2 cables with 3.5mm to 3.5mm plus a 3.5mm to 6.35mm adapter.
One short and one long cable, which I find very practical. I use the short cable on my MacBook and the long one on my PC.

A headset that takes the excellent sound of the DT770 and adds a good quality microphone. Too bad the price is so much higher than the DT770, which makes it less rather expensive.
Audio: Living up to my expectations, very neutral profile, accurate, great for music of all styles, and suits me well for movies and games. However, the neutrality of the sound may bother some for games, as explosions etc. do not come out excessively. Good mic, with a pop filter, easily positionable and doesn't pick up too much surrounding noise
Manufacturing: The headset is made of seemingly quality materials, it is solid and well put together, with many replaceable parts. However, it is rather heavy, and the clamping force seemed very high to me (I had to place it on a model for several days, to decrease this force and make it comfortable).

At first I was not satisfied with it at all. You have to tweak the audio settings a bit.
IMPORTANT: The cable has to be pushed in properly, otherwise the jack is not all the way in and it has a bad sound. The microphone also does not work if the cable is not fully inserted.
Now for the final result: I connected the headset to a SoundBlaster-Z sound card. The headset is a real pleasure for music. For gamers, it's worth switching on Windows Sonic Surround in the Windows sound settings, even though this is a stereo headset. It has helped me enormously to improve the acoustic localisation. Sounds are very clearly distinguishable from each other. Also, the sound is not "overcrowded", so that you can no longer hear the essentials because of the sound.
I am somewhat disappointed with the microphone. My colleagues think I sound much clearer now and am easier to understand, but it also seems to transmit their voices sometimes. I wouldn't have expected that from a closed headset. Maybe I haven't checked how to adjust the microphone sensitivity.
