    DT 990 PRO

These headphones are excellent, the sound quality is amazing, but when worn for a long time they could become uncomfortable. Nevertheless, I think it will take some time to get used to them so that they don't get so tight in the long term.

Good studio headphones for the price

Compared to the Beyerdynamics DT 770 pro, the bass and treble are not pushed as much but the mid-range is easier to hear. Overall, the sound is flatter than the DT 770 pro, but the bass and treble are still very clear and pleasant. Initially I had concerns with these headphones (not yet unpacked) 80 Ohm for mixing and mastering?...and was unsure after ordering because in forums and reviews pros and cons were extremely different and absolutely confusing. I had ordered other headphones and immediately cancelled them because of the uncertainty; then I cancelled the order and kept the DT 990. Well, my realisation is this: The more expensive the studio headphones, the better the sound. Comparing a 140 CHF cheap headphone with a 500/800/1000 CHF or more expensive studio headphone is simply unfair; which is unfortunately often done. Everyone's hearing is different, for mixing and mastering you have to train your hearing to the headphones and learn to understand them, which can take weeks or even months. That's exactly what I do with the DT 990 pro. And listen to a lot of music with them again and again. Select reference tracks, listen to them regularly and then compare them with the mix. Depending on the style of music, you should choose one or two professional tracks as a reference, but not too many. This approach always applies, regardless of the price range. Professionals, most of whom have studied sound engineering and have decades of experience in mastering, and whose ears are highly trained, can also pick out mistakes made by renowned international artists. Nevertheless, I'm saving up for a much more expensive pair of headphones that are in a different price and sound league.
I use the DT 990 Pro for composing, mixing and mastering. I use the DT 770 for monitoring. Together they make a good team for making and listening to music. The DT 990 Pro is quieter than the DT 770 Pro. I realised one thing after just 48 hours: If a soundtrack sounds good on the DT 990 pro, it is well mixed. If it sounds good on both headphones, it is perfectly mixed.

    Super headphones!

I would recommend the headphones without hesitation! I use them for gaming, listening to music and watching university podcasts. I think the sound quality is perfect, the build quality is very high and I also like the fact that the headphones are open. The fact that they are open is a bit of a matter of taste. You can hear the PC a little and also ambient noise. However, I personally find it more pleasant when you can hear ambient noise and your ears are not completely isolated. I also find that the ears don't get too warm too quickly. The fact that the headphones don't work with Bluetooth doesn't bother me personally either. I don't think the price is cheap, but I've never really seen headphones of this quality before, which is why I think I'll be wearing these headphones for years to come.
