Overall, a fantastic pair of headphones. Meet very high standards for an astonishingly small price. The headphones are characterised by a neutral, balanced sound image that portrays the music as it is. Surprisingly much volume and body, yet excellent detail. Very precise in both the low and high frequencies. I still (months after purchase) can hardly believe how much sound you can get for so little money. The outstanding wearing comfort is also worthy of special mention.
Note: A headphone amplifier is absolutely necessary to use the potential of the headphones. You don't have to spend a lot of money for this. Even the inexpensive FiiO devices (e.g. E10K, E11K, E17K) perform well and provide the headphones with sufficient power (250 Ohm version).

I have several headphones in my collection, including much more expensive ones.
For me, the DT880 is THE all-rounder among the headphones!
I bought the DT880 6 years ago and would do it again without hesitation.

I am absolutely thrilled with the DT 880 250 Ohm.
Sound is first class. You really hear every detail in the songs.
I didn't need an external sound card or headphone amplifier. Operate it on the PC with the Realtek ALC887 onboard card, which is currently sufficient for me.
The KH are semi-open, which means that the surroundings hear most of what you hear yourself. But that doesn't bother me, because I use it in my own room.

Treble and bass very balanced. Without equaliser too little bass. Open ear cups --> you hear as if you were not wearing headphones.
Treble was too extreme for me, had to lower with equalizer because of sensitive hearing.
