ASUS VP28UQGL
3840 x 2160 Pixels, 28"
I have a couple of much older, much cheaper Dell screens that completely wipe the floor with this monitor in terms of image sharpness and color reproduction.
No matter how I adjust the settings, white is nowhere near white and text is just blurry.
This screen is okay for watching video, but absolutely awful for reading text.

Enthusiastic about the ASUS VP348QGL for 500.- CHF here at Digitec which is a 21:9 monitor of the same series, we ordered the 28" for 16:9 for another workplace. Widescreen is not everyone's cup of tea.
The first thing that stands out is frustration: Digitec doesn't manage to supply a Swiss 3-pin adapter piece for German plugs. IT IS NOWHERE DESCRIBED THAT A MONITOR WITH GERMAN PLUG IS SHIPPED HERE.
DIGITEC: I know that with a huge assortment no online mail order company can have the complete overview at any time. But especially concerning the German plugs (the topic is not new) there is a real need to catch up. Conrad and Co are getting it done.
HDMI cable is not included. As always, but a cable for display port is included.
I don't have to understand that. HDMI instead of Displayport would probably diminish the sale of accessories HDMI cable. Must be a secret contract. (conspiracy theory mode *off*) No, seriously, Asus could really go the extra mile and save Display Port cables and include regular HDMI cables, or omit both, or include both. But leaving out HDMI is something I don't understand.
The positives are quickly described: See advantages, sorry. But because of the advantages you look for the monitor yes.
On the subject of 4K I would like to say as much as:
4K UHD (also 4K, QFHD, 2160p/i) 3840 × 2160 16:9 (1.77:1).
This is not a full 4K but colloquially UHD.
Should not be simply read over,
since Digitec writes everything here exactly in the specs.
Unfortunately, The speakers are so quiet that the inclined user quickly looks for something else. The internal JBL speakers, an attached UE boombox or 2.1 speakers from Logitech are even suitable in the cheapest version. Quite in contrast to the built-in speakers.
ASUS: Leave out the speakers altogether. They are really not a flagship.

Original comment:
Really great picture and very comfortable to work with. The one-button on the back operation is getting used to and especially if you want to put monitors right next to each other not so advantageous. Recovery from sleep mode takes me too long but if it is there, then really top. I would immediately take again.
Addition after 8 Mt used: The single button on the back is junk. It's too unstable and goes so far that you have to pull out the power cord sometimes. The screen is also extremely susceptible to the signal so that one must often times pull out the HDMI and plug it back in. Everything extremely laborious.
Thus today: NO purchase recommendation more

Despite the extensive picture adjustment options, I didn't manage to get a balanced picture. The panel's illumination is so uneven that relaxed working is unthinkable. This is not even OK for this price. See pictures: Compare the illumination of a 10-year-old HD monitor (top) with the ASUS (bottom).

Extremely disappointing from ASUS. I wanted to believe the good reviews, but this monitor is the worst I've ever bought. I could accept the terrible colours, given the price, but the HDMI connection dropping during games is the worst. Unreliable cheap product from ASUS.
