Sure 600 francs for headphones is said in good German gspunne. BUT the AirPods Max have in my eyes the best noise cancelling and a very good sound. The headphones are very comfortable to wear and is not so quickly warm around the ears. My conclusion: I am very happy with the headphones the sound and workmanship are top, the price, however, a flop.

At this point I would like to add a little preface:
It would be nice if some people would take a step back and let those who have fun with it or not express constructive criticism instead of complaining about the price, everyone has the choice whether to buy a certain product. If the price is worth it, he will pay it. But complaining from the outset that it's Apple, it's just overpriced is generally not appropriate with all companies.
Now to the headphones themselves:
They feel a bit heavy at first, but after a while you get used to them, then they even feel light, sounds strange but that's how it is ;)
The sound quality is an absolute pleasure to listen to, very balanced and pleasantly rich bass.
I also connected the headphones to the Xbox controller and played a few rounds of Call of Duty with Dolby Atmos activated, you can hear very well where the opponent is coming from. Impressive for non-gaming headphones.
The workmanship is top. Everything fits, feels valuable. Except for the case, which I definitely don't like either. Doesn't protect the aluminium enough or the headband.
If you like good sound and want to get an unbiased impression, I recommend buying and I have no regrets.

The AirPods Max sounds much better with the audio Lightning cable for 39.- on an ifi xCAN for approx. 350.- than a much more expensive Beyerdynamic T5 III. gen. with over 100 franc cable on the same portable top amplifier with Bluetooth and various EQ's! The basses are warmer and more precise, the mids and highs are differentiated. Also cool: ANC, transparent hearing and volume still work on the headphones! Wow. Apple has pulled off a surprise! Top!

In my opinion, really well-designed headphones. The operation is very intuitive and since they are real buttons, without any problems.
The sound is clear, even at high volume. Noise cancelling clearly outperforms my XM3.
Although the weight is relatively high, they are very comfortable to wear. The headband is comfortable even after wearing them for a long time (3h in the morning and again 4h in the afternoon). The ear cups are also comfortable.
The case is a joke. IMHO they "designed" the case quickly at the end because it is necessary for travelling. The design itself would be one thing, but the flap doesn't open to 180 degrees, so you have to push the headphones in, they don't slide. In addition, when I prepare them and take them out, the shells bump into each other. That doesn't matter, but there is always a 'click', which I find a pity.
I find it exciting that they also filter irregular noises quite well, like the screaming children in the neighbourhood ;)
Children screaming at about 70 dB (simulated via a YouTube video, measured with the Apple Watch) can hardly be heard with Blinding Lights by The Weekend at about 50% volume, and at about 75% you don't hear anything at all. It is similar with white noise.
You can still hear it relatively well without sound.
Disclaimer: Bought directly from Apple because Digitec had to postpone the date several times.
