after 5 years the battery gave up the ghost
no problem.... I thought just replace it and that's it
But far from it, the battery had leaked, so I had to look for acid-proof gloves and clean them.
I contacted APC support and they told me to replace the whole unit because problems with leaking batteries indicate a problem with the charging electronics.
It would be good if the battery lasted 5 years, but leaking is unacceptable. If I hadn't been careful when I opened it, I would now have a hole in the carpet.

After 30 months, the battery was defective from one minute to the next; the unit suddenly beeped rather hoarsely. The battery voltage was still 13.6 volts when idling, but at the slightest attempt to switch it on (even with mains voltage applied) it collapsed to 4.3 volts. A test battery was attached to the unit and immediately got it working again. With a unit price of Fr. 131.- and a replacement battery price of Fr. 58.--, you might as well throw the box away. The battery label is also missing all the information about voltage and capacity in Ah. But there are at least 4 stupid sayings for safety! The matching Fiamm battery measures 150 x 90 x 65 mm and has 12V at 9 Ah according to the Distrelec data sheet. It costs Fr. 48.--, but is probably of better quality than the original APC battery, which is not properly labelled. This also applies to the replacement battery offered by Digitec! I will certainly not buy this cheap type of UPS again!

Works well - but now I have a problem after 25 months. I'm not sure if the battery is already dead or if the electronics are going haywire...
