Anyone who finds their NUC6 too loud, likes the aluminium casing, but doesn't need WLAN and an SD card will be happy with it.

I ordered the case from CaseKing.de in mid-July, Digitec didn't want to include it in the range at the time... My experience:
1 The case kit does not include WLAN antennas, only the holes are prepared.
    2 The case does not
    have an SD card slot.
    3. before disassembling the NUC, you should deactivate the SD card in the BIOS and set the cooling to "Fanless" - the missing cooling system could cause a BSOD.
    4. Akasa's installation guide shows pictures of how to install the NUC into the case, but there are no pictures of how to disassemble the NUC.

As a result, you get a completely silent system, it very effectively transfers CPU heat to the case:
    CPU Utilization | ~Package TPD | ~CPU Package Temp | ~Outside Case Temp
    <10% | 6 Watt | 43°C | 37°C
    >90% | 22 Watt | 87°C | 55°C

During longer tests over several hours with CPU load=100%, the inside case temperature becomes critical, the ambient sensor throttles the board.

For my intended use, it is perfect. I am very satisfied with the enclosure, it meets my expectations.

    Pro

    • Very effective heat transfer to the enclosure
    • max. CPU temperature (T-junction is 100°C) is not reached even with 100% CPU load
    • all necessary parts for assembly are included in the kit
    • Simple aluminium design, appears high-quality

    Contra

    • No instructions for NUC disassembly
    • 55°C case temperature (reached after 20min. at 100% CPU load) feels very hot...
    • Motherboard starts throttling when the internal enclosure temperature is exceeded
