Powerful notebook with super bad screen

If I could, I would give this notebook minus 5 stars. Why ? Well because one of the most important components of a notebook, its screen, is beyond quality. After less than a minute of looking at it, I cried, but not because of sadness, but because of spectacularly poor picture quality. I have never come across such an abysmal screen, and I have had quite a few in the last 25 years (PC monitors and notebooks). The image displayed is like looking at a view through a window made of old, milky glass. The screen is extremely irregular and dimly lit, no matter how much you try to optimise it with the appropriate settings. To the right, the illumination becomes weaker and weaker, so that almost a dark area is created. To the left as well, but not as strongly. In the middle, the display is still halfway bearable, but the colours come across as completely bleached. During the day, even in the office, one could only recognise the elements on the screen with extreme difficulty.

I didn't get to test the notebook any further because I returned it to Digitec the very next day. At this point, a huge compliment to Digitec, which carried out the exchange unbureaucratically and without further ado. I immediately took the Lenovo Y700-15 (UHD) as a replacement. A difference like day and night! Brilliant, perfectly illuminated screen, crisp, vivid colours on the glossy screen, which surprisingly has very little reflection, very good performance and great value for money. I ran some HD and 4K films I had shot myself on it. What a pleasure to watch and how smoothly they ran! Hands off the Acer !!!!! Unless you really want to ruin your eyes.

    Buy recommendation

I have been using the laptop for a good 2 weeks now and am mostly satisfied. For the price, you get a lot of performance! It's a shame that the case is susceptible to stains. I was pleasantly surprised by the battery life! Under load, however, the laptop gets very hot very quickly.

    Product good, support sucks.

A great product in itself. The only thing that totally failed me was the Acer customer support. Too bad.
