The Raspberry Pi Pico W is a small, fast, and versatile board equipped with the RP2040 microcontroller chip developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. In addition to the well-known specifications of the Raspberry Pi Pico, the Pico W offers 2.4 GHz wireless single-band connections. It also supports Bluetooth 5.2, eliminating barriers to wireless data transmission.
The RP2040 features a 133 MHz dual-core Arm Cortex-M0+ processor with integrated 2 MB QSPI flash memory for code and data storage. A wide range of flexible I/O options includes I2C, SPI, and uniquely, Programmable I/O (PIO), supporting endless possible applications.
To program your Pico, simply connect it via USB to your PC or laptop and upload a previously downloaded UF2 file. Programming can be done using MicroPython or C/C++.
From controlling devices to operating a light display, the Raspberry Pi Pico gives you the technology to support countless everyday processes. With programming in C and MicroPython, the Pico is adaptable to a variety of applications and capabilities, and getting started is as easy as dragging and dropping a file. Experienced users can take advantage of the extensive connections of the Raspberry Pi Pico, including SPI, I2C, and eight programmable I/O (PIO) to support their own peripherals.
