Product details
The Raspberry Pi 4 Model B with 1 GB RAM sets new standards in performance, features, and potential applications. With the Pi 4, the Raspberry Pi Foundation launched the most powerful and comprehensive single-board computer on the market in 2019. The list of features reads like a detailed specification of modern PCs.
With true Gigabit LAN, the Raspberry Pi 4 board opens up a wealth of additional applications, particularly in the multimedia sector, offering entirely new possibilities.
USB ports for peripherals are available in USB version 2.0 (2 ports) and additionally in version 3.0. This is especially noticeable when connecting external hard drives.
The processor now enables the playback of 4K content, even on 2 (Micro-)HDMI ports! Streams in H.264 and even H.265 can be decoded. Depending on the number of connected monitors (Micro-HDMI adapter required!), the frame rate can reach up to 60 frames per second.
Familiar features, such as the combined audio jack with analog stereo audio and composite video, as well as the ports for the official display and Raspberry Pi cameras, are also present on the board.
The GPIO interface allows for the connection of existing HAT extensions, including the PoE HAT extension. There is also a 4-pin connector for PoE power supply (PoE is optional!). The board remains fully HAT-compatible, so the dimensions and mounting holes match those of the previous models.
However, due to new connections and positions for port placements, existing cases can no longer be used with the RPi 4. Cases for this model are, of course, available. They can be found in the usual color combinations, such as Red/White and Black.
