Product details
The open-source hardware manufacturer Radxa has developed the Radxa Zero, a board with a zero form factor. The Radxa Zero is equipped with an Amlogic S905Y2, which features four processing cores running at up to 2 GHz. Additionally, various functions such as 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM, 256 GB eMMC, and WiFi5 are available on this small board measuring 66 x 30 mm.
The zero form factor board from Radxa is based on a quad Cortex-A53 CPU operating at a frequency of 1.8 GHz. It utilizes eMMC 5.1 and a microSD card for storage purposes. The Radxa Zero features a Mali G31 MP2 GPU and LPDDR4 RAM. The Arm Mali-G31 GPU is an ultra-efficient GPU based on the Mali Bifrost architecture.
External storage devices can also be connected via USB 2.0. The 65 x 30 millimeter board, which is only 5 millimeters high, can easily output video content via micro-HDMI, supporting 4K content output at a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Wireless network connectivity is provided through WiFi 802.11 b/g/n or 802.11 n/g/n/ac.
Other peripherals include 40 general-purpose pin connections, ADCs, UART, SPI, and PWM. The Radxa Zero has two onboard USB ports, one USB 2.0 Type C OTG and the other as a USB 3.0 Type C host. Furthermore, the board uses H265/VP9 for video encoding and decoding purposes. The Crypto Engine also supports an external antenna, and additional peripherals are available at the push of a button. The Radxa Zero communicates wirelessly via WiFi4/BT4 or WiFi5/BT5.
