Product details
The Moog Theremin is a classic, analog theremin synthesizer housed in a timelessly stylish solid wood casing. The only electronic musical instrument that can be played without touch was first introduced in the USA in 1920 by the Russian Lev Termen (also known as Leon Theremin) and boasts a 100-year history. In the 1960s, synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog took on this unique instrument and continuously developed it.
True masters play a theremin as skillfully and precisely in tone as a violin. Those who love whale songs and soundtracks from old science fiction and horror films will view the instrument from an experimental perspective.
Proven components and new features
This model is the improved reissue of the classic. A new mute switch has been added, which silences the output of the theremin. This function can also be triggered via an optional footswitch. By default, three control voltage outputs with 3.5 mm jacks are installed for the two antennas and gate. This allows, for example, the control of a Eurorack modular system with the Etherwave Theremin. The analog oscillator can be continuously blended from sine to triangle and is subtly processed with a resonance-free low-pass filter. The round antenna controls the volume of the internal VCA, while the upright antenna adjusts the pitch of the oscillator.
