Zoom is only a microphone. Everything else has to be done by software. But it's not in Win7 and it's not in Word.
If I understand correctly, they want to record a video and bring in the sound separately with the Zoom H2n. Answer: Yes, it needs a cable with a 3.5mm jack plug (stereo jack) on both sides. However, it would make more sense to record onto the memory card. Then you can use a suitable video editing programme to merge the picture and sound and add suitable music parts. The H2n can record directly onto a memory card, be connected to a recording device via a cable with a 3.5mm jack plug or be used directly on a computer via a USB cable. The H2n cannot accept signals from, for example, a video camera (start-stop).
This is only possible via the headphone output of the H2n (jack 3.5mm). But you would probably have to lower the level on the H2n accordingly, since a MIC input on cameras is usually more sensitive. But it would be feasible.
Under product information from digitec Zoom H2n (Handheld) you will find the document Manual.pdf. When searching for "Duration" in the PDF, the first hit on page 04 is "- Long runtime with standard batteries. Recording times of up to 20 hours (44.1 kHz/16 bit WAV format) are possible with one set of batteries. So even in battery mode, you don't have to worry about the recording time."
Yes, it did. LG tom
Start and stop recording by pressing the biggest button, so it is really very easy to use. But I have never had children test it :-). There is as much space as there is on the memory card, and depending on how much the recordings are compressed ... but with my 8GB SD card I have several hours of recording capacity with excellent quality. The recorder has a built-in loudspeaker, but the quality is of course not comparable with playback via headphones, it is only a stopgap solution from my point of view, but could probably bring great joy to children (I at least would have had them at their age).
You can find more here: https://zoomcorp.com/de/de/handy-recorder/handheld-recorders/h2n-handy-recorder/ and there https://zoomcorp.com/de/de/handy-recorder/handheld-recorders/h2n-handy-recorder/h2n-support/ With Audacity you can record just about anything on a normal PC. It also works for the sound of MP4 videos.
ja Zoom WSU-1 Universal Windscreen (Windschutz)
I would either buy the USB cable separately or ask colleagues, there are tons of these cables lying around. It needs a USB 2 type-A to type-miniB cable.
