It gets higher and a bit heavier, but goes without a hitch. You can pack on even more weight ;-) If you want to use the Crane 2 control, for example, to make a 180-degree turn (entered via the quick dial), you should remove the battery grip from the camera, because this gives the mounted camera safe room to manoeuvre. I'm not sure why you want that? Yes, it should work, the shutter release button on the focus wheel. But that doesn't make sense for photography. It doesn't magically make the camera AFS-C better.
