As long as there is no magnet in the case (e.g. for some car holders), you can charge with the case.
At the time, I had returned the item precisely because I was constantly experiencing loading interruptions.
My iPhone 8+ with Apple silicone case fits perfectly. It loads but has no room for a thick case.

Check that your iPhone is "wireless charging" compatible.
If it is, put your phone flat on the "wave" symbol and the charge should start after 2 to 4 seconds.

The iPhone 8 Plus should fit in. There's not that much info, but the Galaxy Note fits in. And the two have very similar dimensions. So it should work.

To your first question: The dock fits even a Galaxy Note. There should be enough space for the S9.
To your second question: Everything is complete and can be used directly.

Unfortunately, no, this will only be supported by Apple's airpower. This will (hopefully) be released this year and you will then be able to charge an iPhone (which is QI capable), an Apple Watch S3 and the new Airpods at the same time. Otherwise just google "Airpower", I hope it helps.
It depends on what phone you have. I have a iphone 8+ and from 60 to 100 about 20-25 mins.
