TP-Link Deco M9 Plus Triband WLAN Mesh Set of 2 (AC2200)
TP-Link Deco M9 Plus Triband WLAN Mesh Set of 2 (AC2200)
Yes, they identical. I have grouped together Deco M5 units from different purchases and can confirm that it works.
I have switched the UPC router to bridge mode and switched off the WLAN. I did not change the SSID. That works fine. However, I don't know if this is the most sensible solution.
These are the Deco M9 Plus :-) As far as I know, there is no M9 without Plus.
I have your "future" setup because you could read everywhere that it is better this way. The important thing is that M9 is the main Deco because it is more powerful and can therefore "distribute" better. After about 30 updates since I bought it, everything is now running smoothly.
It also works when the wifi of the subtle box is on. Just shines a little brighter 😁 In general, the double NAT would be the problem in this configuration: Both your Sunrise box and the primary Deco are now playing router. This is not ideal, but it works. Try to find out the IP in the Deco under "Internet Connection". If it says 168.x.x or 172.x.x you have Double NAT. Solution: take this IP with 1 at the end and enter it in the browser. This should take you to the Sunrise Box where you can change the mode to "Bridge". Example: In the Deco it says: 172.168.0.110 You now go to Chrome: 172.168.0.1 Then somewhere in the settings there is the Bridge mode. Then you may have to wait or restart the Deco. If it works, the Sunrise WLAN is gone and so is the Double NAT. I assume you have Internet via the former Cablecom and not ADSL/VDSL via telephone?
Yes, the first Deco must always be connected to the existing router with a LAN cable. It serves as the source for the Internet signal and a permanent and stable connection via LAN cable is very important.
Well, the Deco can also connect to each other via the LAN cables, so if it is possible to connect the Deco with the technician box to another Deco outside via LAN, then the mesh network is saved. Theoretically, this could also be done via WLAN from the technician box, but it definitely works better with a LAN connection. The third Deco can then be connected again via wireless.
Yes, that is no problem, all Deco systems are compatible with each other. If HomeCare is used, you would only have to make sure that the new router is also HomeCare-capable, but that would be the case with the Deco M9 Plus. You can also add more Deco M5s if that would be an alternative.
Type C, 2pins. And its a fantastic product, I use 3 of them and it covers a 300m2, 3 floor house with 70cm thick walls.
Hello, I have 3 Deco Repeaters set up in my house, all connected without Ethernet cables, working fine. However, they must not be too far apart, otherwise the signal cannot be transmitted.
The Deco from TP-Link do not need to activate an app for parental control and antiphishing protection. These functions, called Home Care, are already integrated in the routers, you only have to switch them on and configure them in the Deco application.
I have the same setup in router mode, provided your box is also the "narrow" one and not the more square one (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/24/Connectbox.jpeg/800px-Connectbox.jpeg). Have you updated DECO and tried factory-reset? To find the error, can you connect a device directly to the modem via Ethernet the next time you lose the connection and see if that works?
Yes, this is possible without any problems, all Deco systems can be combined with each other. You can simply add new WLAN mesh routers from the Deco series to the existing Deco system.
yes the transformer is 100-240V. 50-60hz
Hello. It does not need a router. It is connected to the modem from the provider
So the use of these products is the same, you can also build a mesh network with them as you know it from Ubiquiti. However, the properties, i.e. the specifications, are different; the Tp-Link has a lower transmission rate.
Yes, each of the three Decos has 2x RJ45. All three Decos are identical. When setting up, one is defined as the main node - the one that is connected to the Internet (modem) via cable. I have connected my TV to a second Deco via RJ45. Works perfectly with UHD from Netflix or from the NAS. I don't know for sure whether the Swisscom box can handle it. But I would be surprised if it didn't.
Download 195 MB/s, upload 220 MB/s. However, I have an Internet line with 200 MB/s.
Hey Rudolfbenz, unfortunately no As far as I know, mesh systems from different providers cannot be connected to each other. Greetings KingRaven90
Unfortunately, this is not possible, I have not found an option to do so.
I have always reached over 400 MB in my measurements. Router 1 GB.
They have to connect to the router with an Ethernet cable and since they have 2 ports each, they can also connect to the TV box with the cable
Yes, I do that myself. Each unit has 2 RJ25 outputs. I have a 5-way switch connected to it with a TV, BD, PS4, receiver, everything works perfectly.

Dear Mannyd First of all: the Deco M9 Plus system is not just a repeater, but a mesh system, three-band 😀 (-->google). For directly connected devices (PC, printer), LAN is considered the fastest. You are already well served with network cabling. I assume you are still looking for WLAN coverage? We have had good experiences with the Deco 9M Plus in our large house (4 floors plus an extension with 2 floors with a total of 6 Deco panels (because 3 units from Deco are connected via LSN cable) with 5 adults: i.e. exclusively via WLAN, without a LAN connection in every room. This does not answer your question, but from my point of view, the solution you are looking for would be unnecessary.
