Both units are compatible with FS2020 and are automatically recognised. Most of the buttons can be assigned. Only some buttons on the throttle are not recognisable, e.g. the middle position of the autopilot 'ALT/HDG'.
The bigger problem is the sinulator and its assignment options.
It's best to write to Thrustmaster support first. I once had a similar problem with the joystick, a circuit board had gone bad. After I had described everything to the support, they sent me a new circuit board free of charge(!) including installation instructions :)
Maybe you're lucky enough to have the same problem.
There is, yes: Target is its name. However, I have only really needed it for a few games. Most sims recognise and use the warthog out-of-the-box, especially DCS A10. XPlane 11 needed a little help with the assignment, but otherwise it worked without Target. I don't remember MS FlightSim, it was a while ago. You can find scripts and configurations on the net.
Can anyone confirm that this product is 100% compatible with the FS 2020? I am not an expert and would like to assume that all these many functions are automatically recognised by the FS 2020 - without tedious hours of configuration in some special software.
Apparently the stick does not have the YAW function? Can anyone tell me if this is a major problem if you don't want to use additional pedals? Does this diminish the flying experience, or make it almost impossible?
Thanks for any feedback!
Hello all. For some time now, I have discovered a small problem or flaw with the thrust lever. When moving the right thrust lever, it vibrates and squeaks ever so slightly. This would be acceptable for a 20 Euro device, but unfortunately not for one in this class. Does anyone have any idea how to solve the problem or is it probably a mechanical defect? I have already oiled the lever a little but it didn't help because I have already heard about the same problem in several forums and it was solved in this way.
I am looking forward to an answer.
Kind regards
Julian
Stay healthy!
For P3D it works without any problems or no matter which game or simulator, as long as these controllers support it, it almost always works.
If you want to use this joystick as a sidestick like in Airbus, I would say it works quite well. Because the joystick is a replica of controls from the A-10 Warthog. This means that it is only intended for the right hand and is really designed for fighter aircraft. The same applies to the throttle panel, it is for the left hand. Conversely, if you want to simulate a flight in an Airbus as a captain (joystick left, throttle right), it becomes tedious over time because everything is reversed. As F/O it still works.
Basically, this set is good and very high quality, also in terms of steering. It is also very robust and many components feel real.
I am very satisfied and if you don't want to build an Airbus cockpit 1:1, it is a great part. All the buttons can be configured individually, so you can adapt it to different aircraft.
The part is indeed high quality, very precise and very durable. And it should also work everywhere where 2 USB ports are free and the software can be installed. But:
- The stick has no Z rotation. What else I would appreciate in space sims.
- This Hotas has a lot of controls. My experience with custom mappings was that I just couldn't remember many of them.
- I played Elite Dangerous with it the most, where I had the mapping in at some point due to the number of hours of play. That was also a lot of fun. I had the Z rotation on the mini analogue stick on the throttle.
- I only played Star Citizen with it for a short time. The effort for the mapping and any scripts was still too much for me, or I only look at SC every few months. And with gamepad and keyboard, it's worked quite well so far.
- Obviously, DCS A-10 works great with it, the mapping is correct right away.
- I still have an old steering wheel from the PlayStation 2 days lying around. The pedal unit can also be combined with the stick quite well.
- The price is high, but appropriate for the range of functions.
All in all, this is by far the best stick I've ever had, despite the lack of Z-rotation directly on the stick. For the price, however, I simply use it too rarely.
But I'm already looking forward to FS 2020, when I'll certainly bring it out again.
Hi, I haven't tried it but I can guarantee you don't want to. Battlefield 1 is not trying to be a flight sim in the slightest. Such a joystick would be pure overkill and spontaneous switching between joystick and mouse and keyboard is tedious (when as an infantryman) and the joystick gets in the way.
Even if BF1 doesn't support the joystick it's still possible to get it to work with BF1 but the solution would be cumbersome and not ideal. (Worst case, for example, X-axis + = W button).
I tried it with BF4 back then and it's definitely not worth it.
