Even thought other people asked related questions, I am still confused between what are the differences between the 4 Synology DS1517+ versions. Here is the link to a comparison of the 4 products. https://www.digitec.ch/en/Comparison/6417332-6276463-6276238-6417333 My questions: - What is the difference between a KIT model and a non-KIT model? - Why the non-KIT models have 3 years warranty and the KIT models only 2? - I am interested in getting a bundle of Synology DS1517+ and 5 x 4TB WD RED HDDs. Why is the bundle more expensive than the individual components? Bundle price = 1727, Component price = 939 + 115*5 = 1634. Is something extra included that I am missing? - Do the 8 GB models have 1 RAM DIMM (1 x 8GB) or 2 RAM DIMMs (2 x 4GB)? Also, how can I extend the memory ? Would

Hello Max 16Gb Ram is supported 8Gb are installed, how are the slots allocated? 2 * 4Gb Ram or 1*8 Gb Ram? Greetings

There seem to be 2 different variants. On Google I increasingly find a 2 GB Ram variant

can you switch off the LED on the DS1517+ like on the DS918+ ???

Hello, yes, you can. It has a slider in the advanced control panel to adjust the brightness of the LED. All the way down = off. The sound warnings can also be activated or switched off separately for different states (booting up, shutting down, etc.).
