No, it does not need to! The Sonos Bridge connects other brands with a Sonos system - e.g. an existing stereo system!

Unfortunately, the power supply for the Sonos Bridge is no longer available as the product has been discontinued. A universal power supply unit that can provide 5V/2A might be a remedy: https://www.digitec.ch/452266
Hello, you need the sonos:connect to connect to an existing sound system. This is not possible with the bridge.
