Is the USB 3 internal connection (with the black cover) used for making the external usb 3 work by connecting it to the mother board or is it another usb 3 connection for something else? As in is there 4 total usable connections to external devices or only 3. Sorry if this isn't clear I'm not really sure what I am looking at.

My bad, didn't read through the description, apparently the black connection is used for 2 supplementary usb 3 connections.

Is the card PCI 4.0 compatible? Would buy the card for Reverb G2 as it always crashes when I connect it to onboard USB on my X570 motherboard. Can anyone confirm that this works?

According to Silverstone, the card runs on PCIE 2.0 and should therefore work with PCIE 4.0, as PCIE 4.0 is compatible with older versions.
