I suppose that you are using the adapter with some of the newer M1-MacBooks. Dual display is unfortunately not supported on Apple M1/M2 Macs.

The adapter also works with Lenovo and MS / HP tablets. However, its colour is adapted to the Apple devices and it is made of metal. We tested it at the beginning of the year. I would avoid longer cables (not low budget!) than 5m with the adapter for 4K. However, I would recommend the original MS adapter with 4K support as this will be taken into account in any updates. In addition, the cable is 3cm longer and somewhat more flexible, downside it is made of plastic.
