Questions about SanDisk Ultra Luxe

I bought 2 of these at Digitec yesterday. Is it normal that - whether in use or not - they not only get warm, but really hot (you have to let go after a few seconds to avoid burning your fingers)?

Why does this USB STICK only cost 8.40 at Melectronics ? Also at other suppliers under 10 ! Does digitec really need this to annoy loyal customers.
