According to the description, the reader supports SDXC cards up to 2 TB. However, my 256GB XC cards are not recognised (cards OK). The second USB reader (exactly the same) does not work either. Am I doing something wrong? According to the product description it should work. Thank you

I have two of the adapters and both work with all cards without any problems. Two of the cards are 1 TB cards from Scandisk. Both reach speeds like a built-in SSD disc. The adapter is much faster than any other I have tried. The only problem is that with large amounts of data, the card gets extremely hot and can cause problems for the card.

Works, but gets quite hot even when no memory card is inserted. Unsuitable for my Pi 4. What is the reason for this?

It is because they squized all electronics into tiny footprint. As a result, genetated heat can not be vent into air easily. Besides, some microSD cards heat more than others during "write-access". So, if you want to use it intensivelly, may be you should buy a bigger and metal housing one... I used my one in Tesla Model 3 to record sentry videos, it is always hot, sometimes it is disconnected from car's computer. I suspect it is due to heat problem... I will also change to a bigger housing one. Rgds, Cengiz
