Can the USB-C port also be used as an output (for further video/data, further adapters) or only for power?

Sorry. I think I misunderstood the initial question. You meant the still open USB-C port, right? I thought you meant what the cable can transmit. I had a quick look, and unfortunately: No. It is only for power transmission.
