I am interested in the external Samsung T9 (SSD). USB-C or USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 (1x) is specified as the USB port. Is the device compatible with my iMac from 2020?

Is USB 3.2 gen 2x2 supported on a Macbook Pro M3? M1/M2 do not support the standard and Apple only states USB 4. According to Wikipedia, the implementation of 2x2 is voluntary. I want to replace my defective Sandisk SDD. If the standard is not supported, I might as well buy a T7 or another older SSD.

Do you have a usb3 connection on your pc or do you still have the old usb connections on your pc - that will be the reason - a fast hard drive is only faster on a PC that is already up to date with the appropriate mainboard etc.
