Voices are sometimes audible. Sometimes not at all. These are my first headphones with ANC. I am rather noise-resistant. That's why I also have open earphones from Shokz. The microphone is disappointing in noisy environments. Without voice isolation in the application (e.g. Tems), they can't be used for speech. For absolute silence, you won't be able to avoid over-ears. But in the meantime, I like to put the buds in and enjoy some peace and quiet.
