Hello,
Wow... it's been more than a year since I bought it so, frankly, I don't remember. But if you look at the manual, you can see that there is no SATA cable included.
Best regards
Well, the notebook in question is equipped with a 2.5" SATA-2 hard disk as standard. Replacing it with an SSD should therefore be possible without any problems. Bear in mind that the recovery partition from HP is also located on the (previous) hard disk. The only disadvantage is that the maximum speed cannot be achieved with SATA 2.0, as the SSD would need SATA-3 for this. Nevertheless, the SSD will bring a massive speed boost. Whether this upgrade is worth it for a 6-year-old laptop is something everyone has to decide for themselves...
The easiest way is probably to connect both the old HDD and the SSD to one computer and then mirror the HDD using Samsung Data Migration software. This method is, as I said, the easiest, but not the cleanest and requires a desktop PC.
The best thing would be to completely reinstall the entire system directly onto the SSD. If Win 10 was already installed on it, this is very easy as the Windows key is already registered on the device. If Win 8.1 or older was installed on it, the key must be read out before the change to the SSD (or it is on the bottom of the laptop/power supply) in order to have it ready for the new installation.
Should certainly give a speed boost. However, the processor will probably be the limiting factor. It's certainly a cheap way to upgrade the netbook without spending a lot of money, but you won't be able to do much more.
Hello, Yes you also need a power cable, I don't know the exact designation, but it is a common power cable, as you also need it for a normal HDD :)
Greetings
Unfortunately, this is not possible. These hard drives are intended for laptops and PCs. They are connected via a SATAIII interface. They do not have USB ports. However, I can recommend the following:
Toshiba Canvio Basics (2000GB)
With this, you get a hard drive that is 8x bigger for the same money. So you shouldn't get space problems that fast. If you are looking for something else, you can select USB 3.0 on the right-hand side via PC components-> External hard drives. Then you will only see hard drives that you can use :)
