Hi I bought it just a week ago and mine is a revision C (ESS version). I wouldn't worry about the version though, I haven't listened to the previous version but it should not make an audible difference aside from the different filters that are available. The hardware implementation is quite good so you should be fine with either version, particularly if you use oversampling. Happy listening!
What kind of mp3 player? Probably not. Unless it has a USB port for it. It must be able to manage external devices.
I connected mine via USB to the CD player and the optical output to a BlueOs network player and it works great.
I think so. Anyway the remote works well.
There are no compatibility with UBS -C by default. However you can you can use plugs from USB-B to USB -A or C. I connected it to Mac via Ifi Ipurifier3 and USB-B - > USB - A cable. Works fantastic. In your case you can use USB-B -> USB-A cable (even w/o fi Ipurifier3, but with that the sound is much better) then connect it DRAGONTAIL from Audioquest and then to connect to any device with USB-C.
Yes, the clinch/xlr output can also be controlled with the FB.
The converter connector says 9 to 15V DC 8W. I use this very good device fixed. For me it is perfect. Adapter hangs on 220V AC.
If the headphones are permanently connected, you can change the setting to "Mute Line -> Toggle Ph/Line". This allows switching between Line Out and Phones by pressing the large volume pot for 0.5 seconds. Hope this helps. I use it as pre directly to monoblōcke and a focal headphone. Super DAC I can only recommend Greez
