Yes, the lamp can be operated with the Dial Switch. It does not require a bridge.

You can control the lamp only with a Philips switch without Hue Bridge (switch on/off/dim) or additionally connect it with a Hue Bridge. The Hue Bridge offers completely new possibilities, such as automatic switching on and off at a certain time, control via mobile phone/tablet/computer, control with additional motion sensor, etc.

This bulb has 2200-4500 Kelvin. This means that you can change the temperature of the light from warm white to cool white. This Philips Hue White BT (E27, 7 W) has only 2100 Kelvin and cannot change the colour temperature. It is also the predecessor of this Philips White Filament (E27, 7 W) which both only shine in warm white.
