The Hue Ensis Base BT can be installed normally and operated with a light switch. 2.
2. to use the different colours of the lamp, you need the Philips Hue Bluetooth App.
3. you do not need any accessories to control the Hue Ensis Base BT. (App)
4. if more Philips Hue lamps are to be installed, I recommend installing the Hue Bridge.
5. the cables can be shortened or extended without any problems. The two cables are held in place with clamps.
The maximum length of dining table that this pendant can light effectively depends on a number of factors, including the height at which it is suspended and the light distribution. However, with a light output of 4750 lumens, it can generally illuminate a table of around 2 to 3 metres in length, depending on the layout of the room and personal lighting preferences.
A reset can be done via the app by deleting the lamp and adding a new one (top and bottom are separate lights).
However, there is probably just a strange profile set, which can also be changed via the app.
Yes, the Philips Hue Ensis pendant light is height-adjustable. The height can be adjusted between 66.4 cm and 166.4 cm, making it possible to adapt the lamp to different room conditions and needs. This should prevent the lamp from hanging too close to the table surface.
An installation service by an electrician can be booked as an additional service, which is charged separately. (This is offered when the item is added to cart, or can be purchased in the shopping basket)
Normal dimmers do not work because a transformer is built into the lamp to keep the current constant.
You need a Hue-compatible switch or you leave the light on and use a Hue dimmer switch. After a short time, we converted everything to Feller 4-way rocker switches. Hue is simply too convenient.
As prices can fluctuate on a daily basis, don't hesitate to add the item to a wish list, so that you are automatically notified by e-mail if the price drops.
We had the lamp hung by an electrician, as we have no knowledge of where which cables have to be connected. But we didn't have to give him any plugs and screws.
The light output can be different. According to the manufacturer, at a light output of 2,700 K, 4750 lm are available. At a light output of 4,000 K, however, we are already at 5500 lm.
The ceiling mounted mounting box allows the height of each of the two cables to be adjusted individually to the desired height.
The minimum height is the space needed to move the top cover and access the length control system, I think it could be less than 30cm or even 20cm. For the record, the maximum length should be close to 2m, which allows it to be mounted in rooms with (very) high ceilings.
On the other hand, as the lamp lights up and down, I would recommend more than 45cm, but that's a matter of taste (and ceiling height... :-D).
Hello,
With a luminous intensity of 4750 lumens, this pendant can light a table from 180 to 280 cm, but the optimum lighting depends on the installation height and the beam angle. The dimensions indicate a length of 128.9 cm to 166.4 cm, depending on the model, which makes it ideal for large surfaces. For even lighting, check the recommended distance between the pendant and the table (generally 75-90 cm above).
*Note*: Internal data mentions a height of 4 cm (probably an error), while official sources indicate 130-166 cm. I recommend consulting the Philips Hue installation guide for specific advice.
Hello
Can anyone answer the following questions about the Philips Hue Ensis?
A) The specs of the white and black lamp are not identical https://www.digitec.ch/de/comparison/11235555-14555957.
Difference in lumens, power consumption, product dimensions and weight). Are these errors on the part of Digitec or are the two lamps not identical? Which lumens are correct?
B) I do not use any other Hue lamps. Do I need further hardware like "Philips Hue Bridge", "Philips Hue Wireless Dimming Set" etc. for the operation (light control, dimming) or can I control everything with the Hue app?
C) Does anyone use the lamp at their desk (PC) and can recommend it?
I am primarily interested in the white lamp but with the specs of the black lamp ;-)
Merci :)
A) No idea where the values from Digitec come from, the lamp has 5500 lm and as far as I know that applies to both models.
B) No, there is a bluetooth version of the app, with that you don't need any additional hardware.
C) I have it above my dining table, but note that the lamp (like all RGB lamps) looks relatively dark in colour. In white or normal light, it distributes well and I think it is bright enough for the workplace. The lamp facing the ceiling can also be controlled independently of the lamp facing downwards.
