Many Mac devices use SSDs with proprietary connectors, so unfortunately the commercially available SSDs do not fit. These SSDs from OWC are designed specifically for some Macbook series: https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/S3DAPT4MB05/#compatibility.Sie can try to look for alternatives using tools such as https://www.crucial.com/upgrades/apple/macbook-models. However, I am not aware of any cheaper alternatives.

Not a question, but a note about macOS.Monterey (macOS 12): If you install this SSD instead of the internal Apple SSD, it is essential to update to the latest version of Monterey beforehand (i.e. still to the old SSD!). Otherwise you risk that the firmware update is no longer possible. -> https://eshop.macsales.com/blog/78613-macos-monterey-install-requirements-for-owc-aura-pro-ssds/ - This apparently applies to all OWC Aura Pro SSDs. I have an OWC Aura Pro installed in a MacPro (2013). The update to macOs 12.1 does not go through (12 went!). See link. - Apparently the firmware on 'foreign' chips is not always updated with the OS.
