Not a question, but a note about macOS.Monterey (macOS 12): If you install this SSD instead of the internal Apple SSD, it is essential to update to the latest version of Monterey beforehand (i.e. still to the old SSD!). Otherwise you risk that the firmware update is no longer possible. -> https://eshop.macsales.com/blog/78613-macos-monterey-install-requirements-for-owc-aura-pro-ssds/ - This apparently applies to all OWC Aura Pro SSDs. I have an OWC Aura Pro installed in a MacPro (2013). The update to macOs 12.1 does not go through (12 went!). See link. - Apparently the firmware on 'foreign' chips is not always updated with the OS.
Thanks for the info
Yes, this is as described in the link. To install Monterey on the OWC Aura Pro SSD, the part must first be uninstalled and the original Apple SSD reinstalled to do the firmware update. Once this has been done, the Apple SSD can be removed again and the OWC Aura reinserted. The new system is then installed without any problems.
