Yess, was made especially for the DX format.

I just bought it recently. It works perfectly with the d5300.
Included are the lens caps LC-52 and LF-4, but not a lens bag, nor the lens hood HB-37. HB-37 was already the sobel of the previous model AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm f4-5.6G VR ED DX, so perhaps it is already there!
