Yes, it works, the thing is a bridge and not an access point. A T13 socket (230V recessed) would be ideal. The bridge is built like a plug-in power supply unit and would be placed in a stable position. Note, however, the distance to the router or access point so that the bit rate is sufficient. Depending on the distance, HD needs up to 12 Mbit/s and that constantly.

Yes, it is a bridge that receives WLAN signals and passes them on to the Ethernet interface. The Netgear WN3000RP can work with any wireless router as long as it is in 802.11g/n mode. 802.11 AC does not work, i.e. the Fritzbox should be configured to transmit in the 2.4GHz band of 802.11n mode. Then it works.

In principle, the WN3000RP-2000PES is sufficient. The problem with access points is that they generally increase the ping, which is not necessarily desirable for online gaming. The EX7300 offers fast lane. This allows you to connect from the router to the AP at 2.4GHz and then from the AP to the computer at 5GHz. This is supposed to improve performance. However, it is in a different price class.

Hi. Yes. You can expand the network. You lose bandwidth, but thanks to the modern protocols this is not a problem. Configuration directly on the Netgear user interface is very easy. Just configure it as a repeater, select the network, enter the password and the thing is up and running.
