Yes, that is possible. The monitor is then connected to the external graphics card and can thus operate the 4k screen. Simply connect the accelerator and install the driver, then it should work.
Yes that is possible, if you do this via SLI, the performance of the weaker card is taken and also applies to the stronger card.
So you can do it, but it makes more sense to buy 2 identical cards.

Hi, between 2.0 and 3.0 you probably won't really notice much of a difference, since you have bigger performance brakes in the system with other components. but to answer your question specifically, it is probably (not measured!) approx. 3-5% performance loss. lg
This should normally not be a problem. You can only register the product 30 days after the date of purchase anyway. And then you have another 30 days. The important thing is that the product was purchased within the promotional period. However, a copy of the purchase receipt and the serial number of the graphics card are required for registration.
PS: So if you still haven't received the product after 5 or 6 weeks, I would cancel the product anyway. Sometimes the price of the product has already dropped during such a long period of time.
Well, faults that are not self-inflicted are covered by the warranty, but if you melt your graphics card now, it is self-inflicted, so it would not be a warranty case. It's a tricky subject, but if you want to keep the warranty, it's best to overclock after the warranty has expired.
At the time, I immediately received a code by email. This was probably not triggered in your case.

The gaming versions are practically already overclocked a further overclocking will only bring much more heat generation (shorter life) and a maximum of 10% more performance

The GTX 1070 manages a smooth 83 FPS in Battlefield 4 with 2560*1440, so why overclock?

the 1080 because the GTX 1060 only has 6GB Vram and the 1080 has 8GB Vram and that is almost the most important thing and in addition not all games are SLI capable (the bigger ones are, like e.g. The poet GTA V etc.).
