The battery of the "Xbox Play & Charge Kit [USB-C]" does not mount directly in place of the controller's standard battery compartment. Instead, it replaces the battery compartment cover of the controller. Here's how it works:
- The rechargeable battery is inserted into the battery compartment of the controller, replacing the standard battery covers.
- The rechargeable battery cover attaches to the back of the controller, ensuring that the USB-C connection is accessible for charging.
Thus, this is not a simple battery replacement, but rather an adaptation that replaces the battery compartment cover with a rechargeable battery.
You can insert the battery into an Xbox controller and connect it to the PC. The battery of the controller is then charged. However, there are different specifications regarding the wattage with which a USB port on the PC supplies the devices. Depending on this, the charging process, if it can be charged at all, takes a very long time.
I think I've found the reason:
Connect the other end of the charging cable to a USB port on your Xbox.
If your console is switched off, switch it on. The console must be switched on after connecting the controller, otherwise the battery won't charge. However, you can switch it off again if you wish.
The LED on the charging cable lights up orange to indicate that the battery is charging. When the light turns white, the rechargeable battery is fully charged.
Hello CaliSpielt
Unfortunately, I can't answer this question exactly either, as I am not a professional in this field. Sorry, but I am sure that another person can give you information. I wish you all the best.
With kind regards
Thomas
I have tried various USB-C chargers, some worked and some didn't (don't know why). But what has always worked is connecting directly to the console for charging. I hope this helps.
Maybe a bit late, but better late than never.
I also just looked at Mediamarkt - there the part really costs 22 CHF, but they add 7 CHF shipping. Here it costs 39 CHF, as it is not sold directly by digitec. Digitec sells it for 29 CHF, but doesn't have any in stock at the moment and doesn't know when they will have them again :(
Hello,
Definitely YES. I didn't think the old battery was bad, but you can clearly feel a difference here. The USB charging cable is also very long, which is great.
If you only want to use the controller wired, I think it should work if you just take out the batteries and connect the controller. If you want to use it without a cable, you need the wireless adapter.
If you have any questions about delivery dates, it is best to contact customer service directly. It is quite difficult here.
If there are problems with the delivery or with the external supplier, Digitec can certainly give you better information over the phone than here.
