Have you tried pairing directly via Bluetooth, i.e. not via the app?
The manufacturer does not seem to give any information on this
However, I assume that this should be possible. If not, you should be able to return the item if necessary.
Actually, it is - see the manual.
Since the Stanmore is intended for home use, it does not have a battery and must therefore always be connected to the mains.
