Yes, it is compatible. However, it must be noted here that according to Apple, a maximum of two monitors can be operated via one Thudnderbolt 3 connection.
need to be verified. Docking‘s are sometimes a bit tricky - my experience with HP docking‘s.
Overall I am happy with Lenovo things since many years … Reto
Hey J_humbert, I have found that with the Surface Book, no matter which version, it is best to use the original from Microsoft. I read in the Lenovo forum that it works, but you have to take the docking station from the power so that the Surface Book recognizes the docking station. Which is rather tedious^^ Hope this could help Greetings KingRaven90 PS here is the forum post: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Displays-Options-and-Accessories/ThinkPad-Hybrid-USB-C-with-USB-A-and-Surface-Book-2/m-p/4644603
Yes, the dock has a power switch on the top of the dock in the corner. Therefore, when the Thinkpad is connected to the dock, you can also turn on the device via the dock.
2 x DisplayPort , 2 x USB 2.0 , 1 x USB Typ C , 2 x HDMI , 1 x Combo Mikrofon / Kopfhörer , 1 x RJ45 , 3 x USB 3.1

The HP G5 Universal Dock is currently cheaper than the Lenovo Thinkpad Hybrid. However, compatibility and the type of outputs (DisplayPort or HDMI) are also important when choosing a dock.
According to our information, the product only supports the switch-on function on certain models, mostly from the ThinkPad series. On other devices, such as yours, the button may light up permanently and not switch on. A defect is therefore unlikely, the function is probably not fully compatible.
You cannot connect monitors directly via the USB-C port as the docking station uses HDMI and DisplayPort for video connections. The USB-C port is mainly used to connect to the laptop and does not provide direct video output. To connect monitors, you must use the docking station's HDMI or DisplayPort connections.
The Lenovo ThinkPad Hybrid USB-C with USB-A Dock, identified by the product ID "40AF0135CH", supports connecting up to two external monitors simultaneously. This is achieved through the available DisplayPort and HDMI ports on the dock.
- The dock features 2 DisplayPort ports and 2 HDMI ports, allowing for dual UHD 4K display setups.
This is not possible. Only one computer can be connected. The monitor connections on this docking station are outputs for two monitors.
I think you have two options:
1. the monitor has two independent inputs. Then you can switch between the two computers on the screen.
2. you have an additional switch for two computers on one monitor (called a KVM switch). Then you can switch between two computers.
Good luck.
The necessary drivers for the Lenovo ThinkPad Hybrid USB-C with USB-A docking station are normally downloaded and installed via the connected notebooks or PCs. The docking station itself does not download any drivers, but uses the drivers that are installed on the connected laptop or PC.
However, it is advisable to visit the official Lenovo website to download and install the latest drivers and software updates for the docking station to ensure optimal function.
I use the Lenovo ThinkPad in the shop as well as in the HO with 2 monitors, and a headset can also be connected, for example. Laptop manufacturer should not be relevant (we use MacBook, Lenovo and HP).
