is this a product with which you can actually use an internal SSD externally (connect it to the PC via USB?)

Yes, exactly. That's it. It could also be a hard disk that was previously installed in a notebook.

I am looking for an SSD enclosure that does not have LEDs that constantly light up/flash when in use, as this is distracting in the living room when watching TV. This product looks suitable, can you confirm this?

Ordered the item in stock... but quickly put it into operation for her.... next to plug on back left very tiny (very minimalist) shouldn't bother her.... I have never seen anything more minimal!... and when they have the tiny light pointing downwards they don't see anything.... The housing is the same on both sides except for the light...

Is it USB Type C or A? The photo and the description are unfortunately contradictory :(

Is it possible to install the internal "old" hhd in this enclosure, boot from it and then clone to the new internal ssd?

If the BIOS allows booting from external, that's no problem. But I would never clone like that. I have cloned over 100 PCs. I have always connected the SSD externally and then cloned from internal to external.
