That's right. The holder is really not well thought out. It's just enough for children's bikes. Unfortunately too small for adult bikes. ☹️
I don't guess anything except the supplier. Some items are offered by Galaxus and other third-party suppliers who set different prices. In the meantime, however, there is only one supplier, which is why this is just a thesis.
