I use a Huawei P30 Pro, I have the option in the AI at the bottom right above "Help", it says "Wear detection", click on it and switch off. The Ear buds may have to be connected or it only works with Huawei smartphones.

I haven't had freebuds 3 yet so I can't tell you if the sound is better but the ANC is definitely better because of the ear tips. I've had the Freebuds 3i for a week now and so far I don't regret it for a moment. But I have to say that I also use it with a Huawei device and can therefore exploit its full potential.

The headphones are good for sports because they hold well in the ears thanks to the silicone earpieces. I have also used them while jogging, which works without any problems - despite sweat.
