The SIM card cannot determine what kind of device it is in. If it does not work in the router, there are really only these possibilities:
- The router has a SIM lock and only works with a certain provider.
- The SIM card is inserted the wrong way round or has no contact with the pins.
- It is necessary to enter the PIN of the SIM card so that it can be used. Enter the PIN in the router or remove the PIN function with your smartphone.

Hi, I bought it for car as wifi and it works great there. I assume you want to use it as a modem... It works on Windows, Ubuntu, haven't tested it.
