Programmes that do not require an Internet connection work exactly the same whether they have an Internet connection or not. Office applications are therefore not affected. However, you should connect to the Internet from time to time to ensure that you always have the latest version of the drivers and programmes.

The laptop has 3 of these, whereby one (USB 3.0) is much faster!

Well, I wouldn't exactly call the product new. It's been around for a while. However, if by new you mean is the product new and in its original packaging, then yes. This is not a used product/occasion.
with internet connection i don't know but the battery lasts easily 3.5 hours with video watching so with internet connection it should last 5-8 hours

It is supposed to support up to 8GB. However, since there is only one memory slot, you will have to replace the 4GB module. This module should fit: HyperX Impact (1x, 8GB, DDR3L-1600 (PC3-12800), SODIMM 204)
